Going away for the weekend? The UK the summer months are traditionally unpredictable, yet we’ve been blessed by very good weather conditions this season. With hope that this can last a bit longer (or as long as possible, ideally right up until the middle of September at least), there are plenty of summer destinations for you to pay a visit to.
You do not necessarily need to go to the Continent to take pleasure from a nice day lying in the sun by the beach. Britain actually has plenty of alternatives – and while it might not be as amazing as being in the Caribbean, it is still more than okay for a few days of rest and fun.
Bamburgh in Northumberland is definitely at the top of our list. The shorelines and also the sea look amazing there, but what will surely capture your attention is the wonderful Bamburgh Castle overlooking them. The little village is also really pretty, thus this is without a doubt a great weekend getaway for those searching for peace and tranquillity, together with an amazing view.
Another beautiful location in England is Bigbury-on-Sea, Devon. The town is on the coastline above the largest sandy beach in South Devon facing south to Bigbury Bay. The beachfront has a reputation of being among the best across the UK, in addition to its waters which are crystal clear.
And if you would rather head north, perhaps to Scotland, the city of Aberdeen can offer plenty of fun to its visitors. While temperatures (and the water) may be below what you generally expect, it is still a wonderful spot to travel to, with gorgeous seashores and fantastic panorama.
