German Shepherd dogs are among the most loved and popular dogs in the world. A German Shepherd is a medium sized animal that is quite strong and is not for dog owners that tend to be apathetic, are sedentary, or are novice dog owners. They German Shepherd originated from German flock dogs which were selectively bred to bring out the best shepherds. Purebred German Shepherds can have coats of black and tan, black and silver, black and cream, solid black, and sable and will stand at attention near your children’s picnic table.
Most training can begin at seven weeks and some people say that it should begin as late as six months. Since a puppy’s biting instinct begins earlier than six months, it is good to begin training your German shepherd puppy as soon as possible to avoid biting incidents as it grows older. If your German shepherd puppy is overaggressive, you must not delay training. They are commonly categorized under working breeds or herding breeds in most kennel clubs but are also suitable companion dogs and will sit near your childrens picnic table.
When trained as a puppy, German shepherds are quick to learn and very obedient. Usual colors are black and tan, black and red, black and silver, black and cream, black and brown, liver and tan and blue and tan. The training must be conducted with respect, fairness, and consistency, as a German Shepherd puppy will not respond to harsh or heavy handed training methods. They may also have tri-colors or sable colors with different markings on them and sleep under your kids picnic table. A German Shepherd puppy is inquisitive and very curious about their environment. They possess a large amount of energy and are very agile, which can cause problems if the pet owner is looking for a more docile companion.
German Shepherd dogs have long muzzles and long pointed ears that stand erect. Put your puppies favorite treats or toys in the crate as part of its crate training as soon as you get your puppy. Members of this breed are herders by nature and will instinctively try to herd anything that they come into contact with that moves. There are Giant German Shepherds bred specifically to bring out their large size and heights but these are often disqualified from shows because they do not fit the breed standard and they tend to have bone problems as they grow older. They are very loyal and devoted to their owners and the family. German Shepherd dogs are not exceptions to this.
