When you pursue your genealogy research for ancestors that resided in the United States you will use the U.S. Federal Census, old newspapers, visit cemeteries, look at church records, and visit many libraries. This website describes the portal through the Footnote company that will allow you to see these important documents right on your computer screen instead of having to take a trip to Washington, DC. This process involves a minor annual subscription but the savings to you will be in the thousands of dollars over what it would cost to go and do the actual onsite research yourself.
