How do you find a good web designer? One way is to look around the web and when you find a design you like, find out who designed it. Of you can search the web. An alternative approach is to find a graphic designer that you like, it could be your existing designer, and get him or her to design the website. However, if you do that you will probably need a coder to convert that design into a website that works, and there could be a clash of opinions. So that is probably not ideal.
The question is which is likely to work best for your business? If you are an online business, then you will have little need for graphics design offline. If your business has been working offline for some time, you may have a goo relationship with a graphic designer and want to use that firm’s services. In that case, I recommend that they do purely graphic design, and that a web design company does the rest.
However, you should not feel you should use them because they are there. You may find a much better web designer elsewhere. On the other hand, if you are looking for a new graphic design company, it is a good idea to scan the possible web design companies and see which ones also do offline graphics But you might feel that it is not a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket, and prefer to have one company doing your website and another your graphics design.
What do I recommend? I prefer a firm that understands coding, such as php primarily and has design capability for my website, and a graphics designer for offline work. This way yo can be sure that both are up to date with trends in their business.
